Norwood is a small town in Massachusetts, home to 30,602 people. It was originally named after Norwood, England, and provides many amenities for its residents. Before becoming Norwood in 1872, the village was initially a part of Dedham and was called The Village of South Dedham. In the early 1900s, Norwood was known as being “the center of printing” for the United States, where it exhibited most of its growth due to its thriving printing industry.
Norwood is known for its busy downtown and active retail scene on Route 1 that runs through town. The town has both chain retail out on Route 1 and local businesses in the town.
The town is known for its low crime rates and family-friendly neighborhoods that provide quiet streets lined with elegant Victorian houses built back when the area used to be farmland. However, these days this former farm country is a boon for pests like ticks and termites.
