Because of its location between Salem and Andover, Middleton marked the halfway point between these two vital early settlements in 1659. Although the town was officially incorporated in 1728, Middleton had many roles in its early years, mainly serving as an essential farming and ironworks community along the Ipswich River.
Today, it has around 9,000 residents and is considered one of the fastest-growing towns in the Commonwealth and along the North Shore. Middleton lays low in the hills of northeastern Massachusetts with close access to the Ipswich River, Harold Parker State Forest, and the Peabody Reservation.
However, with century-old homes and proximity to protected reservations and woodlands, locals and tourists alike are all too familiar with unwanted pests like mosquitos, termites, rodents, and much more.
