Medfield, MA, is a quiet town with a rich history. Medfield Village was initially incorporated in 1651 and had been growing ever since. The Dwight Derby House, one of the oldest houses in the United States, is currently being restored to its original state and will be on the register of State and Federal Historic Landmarks once completed.
The Dwight Derby House was built in 1651 and had been undergoing restoration since 1925. Once complete, it will be on the State and Federal Historic Landmarks list. The Peak House, which was restored in 1924, is also considered historic. Other historical sites include Baker’s Pond, a natural pond donated to the Town by J.H. Baker in 1906, and the Medfield Conservation Commission, established in 1962.
Unfortunately, the Town also has a long history with termites, ticks, and rodents, too.
