Even before the infamous King Philip’s and Queen Anne’s Wars, Groton’s land was rich with history. For thousands of years, the area was the territory of various indigenous groups, where the villagers used the rivers for fishing and transportation.
Today, Groton is drained by the Nashua River, Squannacook River, and Merrimack River. The town is mainly dominated by hills, like the well-known Gibbet Hill in the town center. The town has grown into a picturesque village with plenty of access to rivers, lakes, and grand rolling hills.
Of course, this unique geographical topography means that it’s not uncommon for residents and business owners alike to come across an unwanted pest infestation.
