Knotweed is a weed

Knotweed, sometimes called wild bamboo, has a great root mass that prevents easy solutions. Make it starve all year by cutting down new growth. Then in late August cut again and use the highest rate of labeled non-selective herbicide on the stumps. Repeat the application two weeks later. You will have to be persistent for several years to manage and control knotweed.
