How often do I need pest control service to check for mice?

A common question about mouse control: How often do I need to inspect and service for mice? We do not use bait for mice in a single family home. We prefer not to use mouse bait at all, but some properties like large multi-unit buildings, buildings with poor foundations and garages benefit from a secure bait placement to control mice. Trapping is more effective and the dead rodent can be removed. Bait or trap applications are only effective when maintained. First, baits inspections are every 7 to 14 days when they are active and no less than once a month other wise. Next, trap inspections are monthly or every other month. Traps need regular maintenance to keep them refreshed with attractants.
