Greenhow Pest Control is no stranger to Natick and surrounding areas. As Boston natives, our pest control company is familiar with just about every pest you might encounter in this area.
Native American for the “place of hills” or “place of our searching,” Natick is one of the oldest sites in the United States. Natick was settled in 1651 and was primarily a farming town specializing in crop fields and raising livestock. But like most farmlands, common pests like weevils, beetles, moths, and rodents consistently posed a threat to the growing crop fields.
Despite its old age, Natick has thrived into a small town with a historical feel. While it’s not uncommon to see reconstruction on its brick-style buildings, many of its older sites in protected historic areas still boast that grand farmhouse style. Farmhouses were useful on the traditional farmland, typically known for their abundance of windows, several rooms, and spacious lots that allow for large families, farming, and raising livestock.
Unfortunately, these types of buildings are the hardest to control when it comes to dealing with unwanted bugs and rodents. Older homes like farmhouses provide plenty of nooks and crannies, which makes pests a consistent issue even centuries later.
